Precaution on online dating

As I have mentioned in my yesterday post, there are some precautions that we need to take note when we deal with online dating. Below is the list.

1. Inaccuracy of information
As you do not get to meet the person face-to-face when you first time communicate, you have to trust whatever information presented in their profile. You only can be sure of the relationship once you meet them face-to-face.

2. Abandoned accounts
Individuals will abandon their accounts once they have found what they wanted or not following through. These are some of the reasons why no responses to some email been sent out to these accounts. Therefore, you need to spend some time to filter out these abandoned accounts when there is no response.

3. Scam dating websites
There are hundreds of online dating sites which offer free accounts. Some of these websites have the intention to sell products in exchange for the free accounts. Take extra precautions ie. ensure the sites that verify your zip code and ask for details of your profile (to minimize your search).

4. Profiles
Do not disclose your personal information, ie. addresses, phone number or email address in your profile, as do not know whether any criminal is searching for information from that site. Most reputable online dating sites will not allow you to post these information.
